This qualification is designed for the diverse range of adult learners of English as an additional language needing to develop their English language proficiency skills in order to access a wide range of further education, training, employment and community participation contexts.

This course is designed for students learning English as a second language to prepare them for a wide variety of educational and vocational pathways with SPI and other providers.
There are no formal articulation arrangements for pathways into VET or higher education courses on completion of the Certificatesin EAL. Successful completion of elective units of competency within Certificates in EAL will be eligible for credit into other training package qualifications.
For further study outcomes, the qualification can be co-delivered with industry qualifications at an appropriate level 22258VIC Certificate IV in EAL (Further Study) Certificate III or IV industry qualifications.
There are no pre-requisite requirements for individual units of competency.
